CONNECTICUT HERITAGE REVITALIZATION FUND
PLEASE NOTE: The CHRF is slated for introduction in late spring of 2008. In the meantime, the Humanities Council offers grants for heritage programming under our Cultural Heritage Development Fund. The Connecticut Heritage Revitalization Fund provides the state's heritage organizations with the capacity to step back from accustomed ways of fulfilling their mission and review "best thinking" and practice in the museum field, and from that perspective to reexamine their connections with their audiences, their internal operations, business plans and the effectiveness of their public programming. The fund's primary goal is to assist the heritage community in translating those reassessments into a revitalized programming agenda that will enlarge and engage their audiences, bring Connecticut's rich history to a broader public and create foundations for organizational stability and sustainable growth. The CHRF replaces three former CHC heritage grant lines: the Cultural Heritage Development Fund, Humanities in the Schools and Statewide Heritage Advancement Program. In general, major project categories eligible under these discontinued grant lines are now eligible for funding under the CHRF. Highest funding priority is given to proposals that are specifically and effectively focused around the objectives and approaches of the Connecticut Heritage Revitalization Fund. Proposals that offer some evidence of attention to these new priorities and methods or that are more traditional in conception and implementation are also eligible for funding but at a lesser priority. |
