Gateway to the Humanities offers a rigorous eight-month curriculum that immerses economically disadvantaged adults in the core disciplines of the humanities. Students who complete the program often find the confidence they need to enter higher education or professional training for the first time.

The program is offered free-of-charge to qualifying participants by humanities faculty at Trinity College with funding from the Humanities Council. Students who complete the program with passing grades receive two credits that are transferable to other colleges and universities.

Gateway to the Humanities is based on a national program developed by humanities scholar Earl Shorris.
