Connecticut's Heritage Gateway
Connecticut's Heritage Gateway offers an online portal to a comprehensive array of programmatic, educational, archival and scholarly information on Connecticut's rich heritage for tourists, history enthusiasts, teachers, students and scholars. The site receives over 350,000 visits each year. Gateway resources include.
The Council is currently working on the next generation of Connecticut history on the Internet with the Encyclopedia of Connecticut History Online (ECHO), a 4-year, $800,000 collaboration with the Office of the State Historian and the University of Connecticut. ECHO will include over 400 articles written by Connecticut history scholars, hundreds of historic images, streaming video and interactive features, making the site the "first search" digital resource for authoritative information about Connecticut's history and heritage. |
